13th – 14th AUGUST 2023 ART IN THE PEN SKIPTON
https://www.artinthepen.org.uk/
Art in the Pen is a well established and highly regarded art and craft fair that runs each year in Thirsk and Skipton Auction Marts. From humble beginnings, the event has developed into what many now consider to be the North’s leading art event.
Back in 2005, Art in the Pen started out as a relatively small number of artists transforming cattle pens into galleries to sell their original work. The organic and informal nature of the event really captured the attention of visitors, who now return each year in increasing numbers. Today, Art in the Pen has flourished into a sprawling event, with an abundance of creativity and craftsmanship at every turn.
The continued success of Art in the Pen is partly down to its relaxed and friendly environment. The events are a great way for visitors to strike up conversations with our artists and meet other art and craft enthusiasts. Whether you’re a collector or buying for the first time, Art in the Pen provides a wonderful opportunity to discover new, emerging and established talent.

7th- 8th September 2023 Westmorland County Show
Following the resounding success last year, the Westmorland County Agricultural Society is excited to announce that this year’s Westmorland County Show will be held over 2 days on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 September. This will only be the second time in our history that the County Show will be a 2-day event.
As the pandemic and associated uncertainties remain, taking the decision early to continue as a 2-day event reinforces our commitment to ensuring the Show is as safe as possible for everyone concerned. Covid-19 restrictions meant that we implemented a raft of changes for 2021 and some of these were so successful they are here to stay!
Located on the fringes of the Lake District, Westmorland County Show is a fantastic day out – voted as one of the UK’s favourite Shows and enjoyed by over 30,000 visitors every year. A major livestock Show with classes for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and alpacas, heavy and light horses too, there’s plenty to see.
